Knox Honey Farms has been in business for 70 years, that says a lot about us and our product. Our fine clover honey is produced from select fields of sweet white and other clovers grown by area dairy farmers. These plants provide a great nutritional source for Wisconsin dairy cows along with the sweet nectar gathered by our bees. That makes the tiny honey bee an important part of area milk production as pollination provided by our bees help to regenerate the fields of high protein food these cows need to be healthy. The Knox and Bellin family are proud to be from the "land of milk and honey" and work hard to keep our product known as one of the best honey available. A steady resource of sweet clovers and a friendly relationship with our bees helps us to maintain this year after year. But, that's what 70 years of producing honey will do to you. We work hard to maintain the quality tradition started by our founder Bob Knox 7 decades ago. The value of the bee in the food chain and respect for land is all part of what makes the best available product. Fields of clover on local dairy farms are hand selected to be as far as possible from production crops where fertilizers and other chemicals are used. That helps to make our honey a consistent product and the main reason why it has always been so highly sought after. Basically, wild flower and other blended honeys just don't have the taste, texture, color and pure sweetness as our signature brand Knox 24k PURE Wisconsin Clover Honey.
Winter Home Provides For Year-Round Production
Once fall sets in we are on the move. Hives are emptied of the summers production and steps are taken to move the aviaries south to our winter home near Branford Florida. Here the bees will work a variety of citrus sources and produce our highly sought after Orange Blossom Honey. Sweet with hint of orange essence, we are proud of the quality of our product and thankful to be in sunny Florida during the winter mont
hs to produce it. Transporting bees and family is not an easy task but one that is well worth the effort. Our winter home is a quiet community where large groves of citrus trees are the main inhabitants along with the bees that pollinate them. Keeping busy working with the bees makes the winter months pass quickly and results in a fine product and maybe a sun burn or two impossible during those months in our Wisconsin home. We have great friends in both locations and always miss them when we are gone, but traditions, friendships and honey production continue each year with the joy and happiness derived from such a rewarding endeavor as bee keeping. Our founder Bob Knox taught us that years ago, and we are proud to continue the family run tradition of producing the finest available product.
